Ocean Dunes Resort features a 6,746-yard Par 72 golf course
designed by Masters Champion Nick Faldo, which winds through the
seaside dunes. Coastal breezes shape the course's day-to-day
characteristics. Ocean Dunes is an engaging and playable course
for high handicap players who will enjoy the openness of its
links-styling, yet offers exciting opportunities for more
experienced players who will appreciate the challenges posed by
the ever-present ocean breezes.
The best hole is the 148-yard ninth, a par three with an
elevated green guarded by dunes and trees to the right and a
grassy mound to the left. The tee shot has to thread through a
slot to reach the target, much of which is hidden from view.
Between the palms behind the twelfth green, you can see the
South China Sea, a site that often includes Vietnamese fishing
boats bobbing in the surf. Though the course is open and flat,
its routing has a natural flow, and each hole opens up unique
challenges. A Buddhist temple lies to the right of the third
green, and a Vietnamese tomb sits behind the eighteenth tee. The
large clubhouse, complete with a sauna, a large spa and steam
rooms, opened last March. The four-star hotel, with tennis
courts and two swimming pools, is scheduled to open in April.
The view from the clubhouse is a sight for
sore eyes and sore feet as there's no way that playing a mere 18
holes per day will satisfy you.
Sipping a frosty cold beer while relaxing after 36 holes of
unforgettable golf is the perfect way to end the day, and plan
tomorrow's assault on the course.
Located only steps away from the golf course, the Novotel
Coralia Phan Thiet offers 4-star accommodation with spectacular
views of ancient volcanic mountains and the East Sea.
With two swimming pools, a fitness centre with saunas and
massage rooms, flood-lit tennis courts and a Watersports Centre,
there is something for everyone at the Resort.
While parents battle the ocean breezes on the golf course,
children will be entertained at the Kid's Club.
