On the front of the
Mausoleum is engraved "Chu Tich Ho Chi Minh", meaning "President Ho
Chi Minh."

Uncle Ho's dead body dressed in his faded khaki clothes and plain
rubber shoes was put in a glass coffin.
The Mausoleum is the everlasting rest house of the greatest leader
of Vietnam. The construction of the Mausoleum started in September
1973, on the foundations of the old pedestal in Ba Dinh Square where
President Ho Chi Minh used to chair national meetings.
The mausoleum was completed nearly two years later on August 28,
1975.
