Duong Dong is the chief town of Phu Quoc and a big fishing port located on
the central west coast of the island. The Phu Quoc airport and most of the
hotels on the island are located here.
The main tourist attraction in Duong Dong is Cau Castle (Dinh Cau). This
temple was built in 1937 and was dedicated to Cau, the God of the Sea who
protects fishermen and sailors from storms and other sea dangers. The castle
has maintained its ancient architectural style, and there is a great view
from here. |
