Good service and high quality is what La Dolce Vita , an
Italian restaurant in the Old Quarter, pride themselves on. Daily
specials reflect what is available from imported goods and in
season, as does the majority of the menu. Only the freshest,
finest products are used and if they are not available, it's off
the menu! Like all good Italian restaurants, most of the produce
is imported from Italy: cheeses (including Parmesan and
mozzarella), olive oil, tomatoes, etc.
Business set lunches run at
VND 89,000, while dinner set menus cost VND 110,000 or VND
130,000, the latter gets you a glass of wine, porchetta or red
salad and bistecca allo zafferano (Australian beef with mushrooms,
saffron and cream). From the extensive menu, try the mixed
crostini ($4.50), to start with, which includes a decent
bruschetta, or mixed cold cuts ($10).
From the homemade
pastas, recommended are ravioli Luna D'Autunno, with pinekernel,
raisin, walnut, Gorgonzola and cream, or pumpkin filled tortellini
with butter and white truffle oil (both $7.50). Main courses
featuring scampi, veal, Australian beef, squid, chicken etc, run
from $8-11. Don't miss the sinfully fresh tiramisu. dishes can be
washed down with around 40 fine wines imported from Italy, France
or the New World. Italian fruit liquors are complimentary after
the meal, or indulge in an expresso, Amaretto or Sambucca.
Interestingly enough, La Dolce Vita has no pizzas on the menu yet:
for now it concentrates on what it does best: pasta. Orders are
taken until around minight and delivery service is also available. |
