Le Beaulieu is arguably one of the top French restaurants;
probably due to being located inside the Five Star historical
Sofitel Metropole Hotel and having award-winning Didier Corlou as
resident Chef. Believing the product is the most important factor
to accentuate simplistic French cuisine, Didier procures the best
produce from a round the world, locally, or makes it himself, (try
the scrumptious goat cheeses).
The a la carte menu, featuring
roasted lobster with Tahiti vanilla, and including a tradition and
decouverte range, change seasonally. Le beaulieu's candle-lit,
elegant surroundings set the tone for the outstanding dishes. This
doesn't come cheap (mains range from $16-18), but the sense of
occasion, the cuisine's high quality, presentation and sheer
deliciousness are worth it.
