Mekong's traditional French staples, good-value menu's and
great location (stap-bang in the middle of HCMC's tourist
quarter), attracts a broad band of diners. The bright, open-plan
restaurant sees daytime business crowds and frazzled tourists
tempted by the well-priced $7 lunch set menu. In the evening, the
mood softens, with traditional music performances and
candle-light. There's a range of set menu's ($9-30), whilst a la
carte includes well-known classics such as roasted duck with
orange sauce, lobster thermidor, and if you've got any room left,
profiteroles or pineapple sauce crepes. The unpretentious cuisine
is probably a reliable choice for those new to the joys of French
cuisine. |
