Saigontourist Company commenced operations in 1975 in Ho Chi
Minh City as the city’s first business in the tourism industry. In
March 30, 1999 the Saigontourist Holding Company was established by
the decision of The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, and is a
state-run enterprise in-corporating many city-based travel firms of
which Saigontourist Company is the key partner.
The Saigontourist Holding Company has been one of the leading
tourism corporation in Vietnam, which has greatly contributed to the
development of tourism in Ho Chi Minh City in particular, and in
Vietnam in general.

The business of Saigontourist Holding Company covers in hotel
accommodation, food & beverage, travel, recreation, trading,
import-export, duty free shop, transport, construction, tourism &
hospitality training, food production & processing…
The Saigontourist Holding Company is managing 7 travel service
companies, 59 hotels, 7 resorts and 27 restaurants with
well-appointed facilities. It has 24 local joint ventures,
public-private business cooperation establishments and limited
liability companies, and 11 joint ventures with foreign partners.
Saigontourist is an official member of PATA, ASTA, JATA and USTOA.
With the growth of the corporation, the Saigontourist Holding
Company continues to focus on enhancing and expanding markets
especially international target markets such as Japan, China,
Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, France, Germany, England, Canada, USA …
The Saigontourist Holding Company has a nation wide operation
network and relations with 218 foreign travel companies in 36
countries. The corporation established its overseas operations in
Japan and Washington D.C (USA), and in the future, will further set
up Saigontourist branches in Thailand, Laos and Germany.
Most of Saigontourist Holding Company subsidiaries have recorded
good performance. In 1999 – 2001, Saigontourist Holding Company had
Rex Hotel and Saigontourist Travel Service Company selected by
Vietnam National Administration for Tourism as Top of the Top Ten
hotels and travel companies in Vietnam. Other Top Ten hotels and
travel companies of Saigontourist Holding Company in this period
were Hotel Majestis (1999-2001), First Hotel (1999-2001), Saigon-Can
Tho Hotel (1999), Yasaka-Saigon-Nha Trang Hotel (2001) and
Fiditourist Co. (2000-2001).
