CUA ONG TEMPLE

Cua Ong temple is located in the Cua Ong quarter of Cam Pha, 50km from the centre of Halong city. It offers a magnificent view of Bai Tu Long bay.

The temple was built at the beginning of the 19th century. It includes a lower temple, a middle temple and an upper temple. In the lower temple, people observe the mother-worship cult, while the upper temple is dedicate to the cult of Tran Quoc Tang.

Cua Ong Pagoda

The main temple was formerly used to worship Hoang Cau, a regional hero, but it was later changed to honour his 3rd son, Tran Quoc Tuan, who was very brave in defending the border in the Cua Suot area.
